At your departing airport in most cases you will not see your luggage once it has gone through customs until you board the ship it in most cases your luggage will be delivered for you to your room, or porters at the cruise terminal, will deliver your baggage directly to your cabin. Hand-baggage as usual just like airport security will be scanned, you then make your way to a customs desk were your details will be processed to provide identification and set up a shipboard cashless credit account (more on this later).
